I recently found a big box full of old satellite info and pictures in the loft.
This is an old France Telecom Testcard from the 80's

There's an analogue section for any equipment - put some stuff there.

I have a pile of old Wotsat magazines to scan myself.

Dishes: 80cm (5°W/4.8°E), 80cm (30°W), 60cm Zone 2 (13°E/19.2°E/28.2°E)
Receivers: HTPC (Intel i3 processor, nVidia Graphics, and TBS6905 4x DVB-S2 PCIe tuner card) running Ubuntu with Kodi/TVHeadend, Wetek Play2, Skybox M3.

Just for the fun of it, I made a Philips PM5544 test pattern generator in Javascript :D


You can set the values for each field as in the link above using query strings.

tbar Top black bar, one line of text
tbar1 Top black bar, two lines of text - first line
tbar2 Top black bar, two lines of text - second line

For the above three you can set them as 'DATE' or 'TIME' to get the date/time.

bbar Bottom black bar, with white line on left hand side
bbarfull Bottom black bar, full width

Inspired by ones I've seen on YouTube :lol: -


Probably won't work neatly in all browsers (especially not on phones), but works OK in Chrome.

Works in landscape on an iphone, the text boxes don't line up in portrait.

Thanks! Yeah, looks like it needs a bit more styling work to sort that, which I’ll have a look into at some point :D
