A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Having looked through my shed of working things and found an S740, last plugged in sometime around 2001 but utterly reliable. One of the last rotary dial models, very tactile. Everything else that followed it was linear dial and looked like a Lafayette and everything else on the block.

Image near the end looks like a 1650, of which I have one somewhere, but needs a lot of work.

Some of the 50's and earlier Stratton stuff commands a decent price these days.20190405_153539.jpg

Haven't had the "pleasure" to see CH's "shed" but I've always imagined that it's something like "Ali BaBa's Cave" - or the huge secret storerooms in one of the Indiana Jones films or "The Librarian" tv series ! :-wow.

PS: I got a Hallicraft Rx a bit like that from my Uncle Brian (pre-WWII Ham - G2WI "G2 Wild Indians"!) whilst at school - thought it a gift, until he told he wanted 10 quid for it!

PPS to Gordon - and NO, he wasn't from "t'Republic"! :-rofl2

I still have my Eddy 840C which I bought new in the early 60's from Mitcham Radio.

Still going strong, although it's a little deaf at HF. AC/DC, serial filaments - one bottle goes, find the culprit
