I finally gave up on Doctor Who when they were on some planet and one of the characters noted there was three suns/stars in the sky... yet everything only cast one shadow when there should have been three.

Ah, you've obviously missed the 'charm' of the BBC reduced budget production values....

Yes I was spoiled by the heady special effects budgets of Doctor Who in the 70s

Was also counting on the fact the Doctor could only regenerate 12 times to put us out of our misery but that appears to have been swept under the carpet

I think we'll have to disagree on the Dr. Whilst not a 'fanboy' (not at 70 anyway) I have followed the program from it's start to today. I find Jodie Whittaker to have brought a refreshing change to the role. Each to his own I guess...

Agree about Jodie Whittaker, but I'm afraid the "woke" scripts put us off.

Matt Smith's incarnation put me off Dr Who, but I refuse point blank to watch any Jodie episodes. No disrespect to Jodie in the slightest, but the Doctor's integrity has been sacrificed on the altar of political correctness as far as Im concerned :( There was absolutely no reason for the current incarnation to be female apart from ticking pc boxes.

No disrespect to him but what about Craig Revel Horwood as the next (sometime future?) Doctor:-rofl2 - that way, it's not really a "PC" but a "broadbrush" approach to who plays the Doc!

It would affirm the last 20 years has been little more than a pantomime.

I wonder if somebody has been given the 'he's behind you ' line in this festive 'spectacular' ...

Not heard any of those so far - probably because I haven't been in an actual shop for at least 2 weeks!

Bah Humbug !
My thoughts exactly. It's about time the green lobby started raging against those who 'decorate' their homes with tacky lights as well. I'm sure the houses on the other side of the street put theirs up just to increase my misery

Talking of green, I see there'll be lots of outdoor tables at restaurants this December, so while inefficient gas boilers in the home are being vilified, hundreds of 'super efficient' patio heaters will be contributing to global warming

That's even more irritating than the affection of ending sentences in a manner that makes statements sound like questions.

My latest bugbear is firms who I do business with sending EMails addressed with a degree of informality ("Hi" followed by "First Name") that breaches the bounds of courtesy.
