When I lived in North Dakota I survived three F5 tornadoes, they are nothing to fool around with, these stupid tornado chasers are dealing with a Russian roulette situation, one day the tornado will win.

The first one just missed my house, I was 5, it got my swing-set on the big tree (got the tree) and my tractor tire sand box, it hit the bottom of the hill and jumped over our house.

The second one was about the same way (I was 7) but it came down in a housing tract West of us, all that was left was fire hydrants and sidewalks, good thing we had basements to dig out of.

The third one went through the railroad switching yard and picked up an old steam locomotive then dropped it nose down in the swamp South of town, it had to be cut up for scrap as no one could figure out how to get it out of the swamp, it was funny going out in the duck boat and seeing a train sticking up out of the mud, made a great duck blind till they cut it up..

We moved to California the next year, I can live with earthquakes.....At least up to a 7.0...I survived that one.

Some encounters recorded on decent equipment. Adjust settings according to monitor/broadband.

Nice videos.......Now imagine the bottom one three to four times bigger, and sucking the asphalt off that road as it goes over, and your 5 years old watching it go by from the basement storm cellar.

I was real mad as it took my swing-set and tractor tire sandbox along with it.
