I've been living in Holland & had a Twin Monoblock set up from Canal Digital for Astra1&Astra3.
Now living in Austria I've set up the dish but I only really want British telly & wondered if I could just line it up with Astra2 & scan for channels? Or will the lnb's only be programmed for Astra1&3 frequencies?
Any advice?

It works the same as a normal LNB, so you can do as you want.
Can you get the UK spot beam in Austria?

Make sure you align the dish on the correct feed (focal).

Hi there again,
I'm struggling a bit to get Astra 2, I don't think the dish is big enough at 65cm's so probably need an 85 according to the foot print map you told me to look at.
The decoder says I'm 100% quality&signal for the Freesat transponders but I'm only getting Foreign channels from them.
Shall I try something else before buying a new dish?

It depends where in Austria you are for the UK spotbeam. You may get away with a 1m dish in far western Austria. Over in the east you have no chance whatsoever with any sensible sized dish. Have a look at the map in the sig at the bottom of this post.

Your dish is pointing at thee wrong satellite! Probably either 13E or 19E.

You would be best using the Europe Ku footprint, try 11082 H 22000 DVB-S

... but I'm only getting Foreign channels from them.

WHICH foreign channels? At what frequencies?
Maybe we can help you determining to what satellite you are aimed.

Are you receiving these channels with the LNB marked 23 or 19? And which of these LNBs is in the middle above the dish-arm?

Hello there,
thanks for all the advice again...I tried 11082 & sure enough got straight on it with all the other Europe Ku footprint transponders so I was no where near it & probably still on 19.2 as you said.
I've got the 23 in the holder on the dish arm.
The channel choice is pretty limited... hardly any of the popular UK ones except for Studio66 of course.
Have I any further options?

Studio 66 is on 28E (and only on 28E) so you need to tweak up the dish alignment & the lnb skew. Do the skew FIRST.

I've got the 23 in the holder on the dish arm.

The standard 'duo-LNB' monoblock from CanalDigitaal has 23E LNB as diseqc 2/4.
So if you have that LNB central above the arm: have you set diseqc 1.0 command to 2/4 or B or AB or whatever it is called in your receiver?
Or you could set the 19E LNB central, than no diseqc command would be necessary, or you would choose 1/4 or A or AA.

So if you haven't taken that into account till now (which LNB, which diseqc command), that means realigning the dish again! o_O
For a difficult to receive satellite: allways punt the LNB for that central above the dish arm.
And check with shoving the LNB further from or nearer to the dish, when reception is best.

As the antennas in the duo-LNB are not put in there straight, you'll have to find the correct LNB-skew by testing yourself. The skew of the LNBcasing is not the same as the skew of the internal LNB antennas!

I get all the channels from the Europe ku footprint now so I'm on 28E but do you think with tweaking I'll get any other channels or is the dish not big enough as you said earlier?

Yes, tweak on 28E (studio66), as it is on 28.5E (UK spot beam) and the more difficult satellite for you to get, as compared to the 28.2E satellites.

Tweaking sometimes goes better when you simulate bad weather, with a wetted cloth (or shammy or chamois, are these understandable english words for what I mean?) over the LNB!
