If it's too low in the east and high in the west, you need to swing the whole thing to the east... Are you using USALS or DiSEqC 1.2?

Also, you might need to adjust elevation of the motor and declination of the motor.

Check yet again that the pole is plumb.

And do inspect the area where the dish is mounted to the motor - first, to ensure the dish is set to the datum mark on the stub and second to ensure that it is squarely fitted ..... sometimes when tightening the clamps, the dish can be thrown out of kilter a little. A little becomes a lot towards one or both ends of the arc.

Laminas 1.2M fibre dish with an IBU, on a Clarke Tech USALS motor, covering 57E - 24.5W to an Octagon SX88. Displayed on a 20" Dyon LED TV.

Seperate 80 cm dish on 28E with a Humax Freesat for SWMBO.

When I set up my Laminas on the motor, I checked the pole was plumb with a digital angle finder and got it to within 0.1 of a degree. Also check the rear face of the motor where it mounts on the pole, you'll find it's 'plumbness' alters when you tighten the clamps. A larger dish requires much more precision...

Captain Jack , I am using DiSEqC 1.2, I am suffer "tunnel vision" I had move the whole lot to the west locked in that grey matter that some people call a brain. To refocus the mind I continued painting the outside of the house, that is going so well either as it is now starting to rain.
Lazarus, thanks for the info

Still raining so will have to call it a day with regards tweeking, when I finished at 1PM today I roughly put it back where it was yesterday,
so I still can do some tuning.
To dxhound2003, the arabic channels a breaking up a little now in the rain and of course my alignement is not as good as yesterday after todays mess up. Amos at 4W is about the same as yesterday, showing 77% quality on the Clarke-Tec 5100.
I will connect up the Freesat V8 Super and see what adventure we can do with this box of tricks

I connect up Freesat V8 Super last night and connect to 8W, the Clarke-tech drives the motor, after initial setup and I ran a blind scan
on this satellite, it found the same channels as the Clarke-Tech but it is about 10 times faster. Just have to learn the new menus

Hi Folks
Just did not get anything done since last post, between rain, dishwasher went "Belly Up", ride-on lawnmower drive belt broke, outside painting had to be done on the dry days as we have 3 new foster teenages arriving next week, plus working for myself it was a very busy 2 weeks.
So week aheadI might get a chance to do the final alignment on the Laminas OFC1200 dish, and then I will update with photos

So what do you do the rest of the day, then?

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!

That's a "bit unfair" if I may say.

Sod's Law says that "if it can go wrong then it will", and not when you want it to - happens to all of us, like we are going on holiday next Weds, and now I have to unblock the bath waste (not easy/quick, I can assure you because of the weird layout of the bathroom - 6ft 6" wide at the "wide" end and 20" at the other! - and that's where the bath waste is, and the out pipe has a very shallow drop because the pipe through the wall is at the wide end - think about it :().

Sorry mate, I was being Ironic.
You seem to have a full plate, and then some.

Of course you need to prioritise - so do not worry about the rate of feedback on this stie.
Although we are all keen on following your progress, it should of course happen at the pace that works for you.
(We'll be here i n month too :) )

jeallen01 + st1 thanks for your comments, dont worry I can't be insulted, as my customers say to me that I am all positive and good humoured, and in jest I say because your paying me to be here.
st1 the rest of the day I do wildlife/nature/landscape photography, utility shortwave radio listening, foreign affairs, and enviroment , and an odd glass of wine:D
This forum has a great bunch of people, so when I am fully up and running ye will be the first to know, in the mean time I will post feeds as they turn up

Hello Folks
Sorry I have been missing off the forum with over six months.
Took down the OFC1200 Dish for Storm Opheila last October and yesterday was the first dry day with no wind, so I put it back up and realigned better than the first time, at least I can now receive Express AM @ 53E, now I must tune all the westerly satellites.
So shortly I should be reporting some new feeds etc.
Had so much rain here since October my well collapsed and had to sink a new one, which cost a lot of euros to do, and now I have the front garden to cleanup after this, when we get another dry day or two.
