Understood MB Well I have left the same topic in 4 other forums and left SMW a message so we shall see what they say but the Type R has been around for over 15 years so there must be a few kicking around .If you do a search on the net your find a few maybe states side since every thing over there is big . Should we get no reply then its just going to be trial and error .
another approach is to build a small device to detect signals for an "universal lnb" and use them to manage what we want :
conf5.jpg
we have to detect if 22k is on (from receiver) and 13V +22k (for swm)
else send 18V+22k if 22k is off .
13/18v from receiver are use for polarotor !

It looks like Bands 1 and 3 of that Norsat LNB will give you full Ku-Band coverage. If you use the Technomate Universal LNB option with LO of 9.75/10.75 it should scan the full Ku-Band for a single polarity. Then use your co-rotor to spin around to the opposite polarity and repeat the process. It will blind scan and save the result to a single satellite configuration.

That Norsat looks more suited to your setup than that SMW Type R LNB.

Understood MB yes this is what I thought it looks more like your standard quad band LNB just plug and play as for the Norsat thats well over a £1000 so I dont think I will get one of those until they drop down to more acceptable price .

Sorry Dreambox 1559 but I am way past the point of building kits these days a bit like climbing up ladders and running arould on roofs , I think the last thing I built was a testcard generator for ATV about 30 years ago .

For detailed and accurate explanaitions of how the Enigma2 receivers work re voltage and polarity settings for a blind scan using an OpenViX image, forum member "Huevos" is the person to ask. He is one of the developers associated with the OpenViX image.

I misunderstood, thought more than one LNB could be selected per blindscan. What would be needed would be the ability to predefine bands per position and associate an LNB with that band & polarisation. I'm sure it could be possible.. alas for such a niche setup it's unlikely to happen any time soon :)

Hi dreambox1959 Well I still have my old Quad band LNB its 30 yes old but still works Gain and Q are not as good as the SMW sorry I have no intention of buying a £1000 LNB . But I will take your friends details just in case I need a nice cheap WR75 Quad band LNB as there hard to find these days .

Ok I have been playing around scanning with the Technomate TM-5402 and have found the best setting to be universal with a freq of 9.750 - 10.600 and it does seem to be receiving even 12.303 H . With 414 channels found including encrypted channels .

Since I have been scanned many times I have now over 1273 channels in the memory how do I delete all these non working channels . So have only just got the 414 or do I just set the receiver back to default and do a re scan .

To check what I can and cannot receive with the receiver in universal with a freq of 9.750 - 10.600 give me some channels and I will check if I can receive them . I can receive 414 channels FTA + Encrypted channels this is on Astra 4 / Sirius 2_3 looking at the list FlySat Astra 4A / SES-5 @ 4.8° East

So I plan to delete all these 1273 channels then do one last scan just just end up with just 414 channels I thought as you did a scan it would delete the old channels but I have the same problem with the sat meter .

Thoughts !

It's been said before - using the universal setting will scan everything on whatever polarisation the corotor is set to, most of the frequencies saved will be incorrect but the channels will work. So if you are comparing lists then go by channel name rather than frequency.

I would set up 2 satellites per position, one for H and one for V, then if you get an ASC1 setting up the diseqc to change auto change the corotor polarisation will be easier.

Do you get Jurnal TV HD and SBN International?

you have to remenber that receiver always scan from 950mhz to 2150mhz on his input , whatever the value of local oscilator written on screen !, when you select universal lnb , there is four scan :low V:low H:high V:high H.
so in your case four bands are selected one by one , it s make some duplicate but polarisation is not managed !

Evening Ozumo

Yes I have just been going down the 14 page print out + ticking them off ,But your right the freqs are all incorrect but like you say they will work , When this receiver scans the first 50% 10.700 - 12.750 all Vert and once past 50% its does the whole thing again 10.700 - 12.750 all in horizontal this is why I have found a total of 414 channels with Vert + Hoz .

I will check tomorrow for Jurnal TV HD and SBN International but I am sure I have those but only problem I have is finding a way to delete all the previous scans I thought as you made a blind scan it deleted all the old scans but it dont so I have a list of 1273 channels but only 414 channels work .
Thanks again

Simple, read page 24 of the manual and check the Factory Reset options.
