Using a HDMI lead with a dreambox 500

Hi this might sound a bit sill,y I have A dreambox 500 is there any way I can convert it so that it will take a HDMI cable to connect to my HDTV?? :-doh2

No you will be wasting your effort in trying. Even if you could, it would be of no benefit.

plenty of adapters on ebay that will allow you to connect the box to a hdmi source.

It wouldn't work, there is no such converter.

HDMI is a pure Digital signal, Scart is an Analogue signal, If you shoved an analogue signal into a HDMI port the TV set would just see the signal as static and would totally ignor it.

Even if such an adapter was possible to obtain it would be pointless as most new Ts still have Scart sockets aswell as HDMI, nothing would be gained by trying such a pointless exercise.

there literally are shed loads of units on ebay that claim to do the job although with the price of hd boxes nowadays im struggling to find a reason to have to use a 500s?
