How is sipgate in terms of network reliability? I had a look at sipgate basic (after creating this thread).

I’m tempted to port my landline number over to them. I would be saving about £15 on their pay as you go package, as I only need the landline for incoming calls.

Not had any problems. That said, it's my backup for occasional DDOS attacks on Voipfone.

Credited Sipgate with £10 four years ago and still have £9.92 balance.

Which device or apps do you use?

My account is setup, just need to wait for the activation code to arrive before I can start making calls.

I downloaded the Grandstream Wave Lite yesterday, but that was pretty poor. It regularly kept dropping connections, with the reviews on the app store complaining about the same thing. Plus, it was a massive battery drain.

The Sessiontalk Softphone app seems much more reliable.

I had a look at some SIP Dect phones, but they would cost about £150 to replace my current handsets. So I ordered the Grandstream HT812 ATA - I'm hoping their ATA performs better than their app.

I use the bog-standard Cisco SPA112 VoIP Adapter plugged into my Router.

One Port configured to Voipfone and t'other to Sipgate.

Just using the same DECT Phones as I had when I had a "Landline".
