Hi Guys
Thinking of taking the plunge and investing in a 1.2M dish to improve reception of 7W and 26E ( I live in East Yorkshire) and have come across a cahors dish for sale.
Has anyone had any experience with this make of dish and do they know if it will/can be run on my existing diseqc mount.
cheers

@marcouk That is a good dish. Are you really ready to spend so much money on that? If I were you, I would look in the second hand market for 1,2m Channel Master, and for little money, would have the same performance.

A Channel Master / Raven dish requires a bit of fiddling to work with a HtoH mount.
Check with the manufacturer if the dish has a dedicated adapter to work with one since the link provided has no useful info.

I have one dish like that for many years, but did not try to install it  It has very interesting set of feedarms, especially the LNB-holder, there is a screw to change LNB's pointing up/down.

Thanks for all the replies guys.
I don't mind paying the money (obviously I would like it as cheep as possible) but my main concern is that my currant setup is a Very old 1M dish on a nearly new (December) diseqc mount and I want to keep all but the 1M dish in use.
the old dish was attached to a garden fence/pole for years so the bracket has become bent over time so it is not staying on the arc as good as it should.
this is not a problem with most sats but with 7W and 26E accuracy is a must if I want to get the best signal.

I suspect that any diseqc motor is too small for 1.2m dishes. Using a good polarmount and actuator would be better.

my 1.2 Laminas (for sale on here) worked ok, on a DARK MOTOR - just went out of alignment too much - as it was raised and suffered on windy days.

Amiko dm 3800 diseqc motor is perfect for 1.2m dishes because is build till 1.4m so it's really stronger. I have that one on 1,2m Channel Master and working great. The adapter on dish made by myself and the mount is from the DirecPC set.

Not any. If the dish is sheltered ( and perhaps counterweighted) the forces will be reduced enough for the better designs to perform satisfactorily.

Btw there are some very good coupled double / quadruple DiSEqC motor designs out there.

The dish is a bit sheltered between the houses (it is installed on the roof of the extension), but if the south wind is blowing or the storm from the south is not so protected.

I also tried the DIGIPOWER SG2100A Moteck, but it turned strenuously only 40 degrees from the zero point between East and West. CM 1.2m is heavier. In contrast, the Laminas dish 1.2m works perfectly.

I did mention counterweights earlier, The HtoH best friend for SMC dishes.
