I have been trying to find a web page that will let me enter my location and will then tell me within what footprints I fall (both official and fringe) but it doesn't seem to exist.

I thought Lyngsat or Flysat might provide such an engine from the huge amount of date they hold, but no.

If anyone knows of such en engine can they please let me know.

Many thanks.

No but this is a pretty good site and can navigate quickly through satellite footprints :)

I thought Dishpointer had a facility for this?

I'm sure it came up only a week or two ago and, being a sceptical sort of chap, I had a dekko and was pleasantly surprised.

But then again, my memory isn't what it used to ....................... err, err

Yup. It does.

On the main Dishpointer site, having entered Location, there's a link on the left below the picture "All available Satellites & estimated Dish Sizes for your location"

Isn't it a little inaccurate, well certainly isn't for the Canaries anyway ;)

Finding something reliable and accurate enough may prove difficult.

No doubt about that!

Footprints are also somewhat indicative rather than reliable.

So combining the info from these different published sources along with experimentation and seeking out "local knowledge" is the surest way forward.

kingofsat holds user inputted data under "reception reports" for most european satellites if that helps. the data can be vague, but the user comments sometimes help (if you can translate all languages well!)
