After reading some of the posts in this section, i thought it would be interesting to see which image the users here seem to think is the best :D

I think it it would be OK to state which image you like for a Vu+ Duo or Solo in this poll.

Your opinions of pros and cons would be most valuable.

Its a totally Anonymous poll so please vote as you think even if you don't wish to make a comment.

I've voted for Blackhole myself :D

I've tried both on my Solo. I began with the VIX image and liked it for it's ease of use. I've tried BH (thanks Nano) and although there's only an gnat's between them I must confess to returning to the VIX. It's mainly asthetics rather than functionallity, though obviously this is more influenced by the skin you use. Having two clocks on the BH (analogue and digital) used to annoy me and the constant developing of VIX can be frustrating. In fact I've stopped at VIX2.1 as it works fine for me and I think some of the development work on the image mainly relates to extras for the Duo (recording), which I don't do.

None of them.

Both BH & Vix are horrible looking and evil to use for a beginner. Even one used to E1 images on my old DB7020.

Havent used any of the others yet.

The thing is if you pump up the fonts to make them easy to read on a 19" tv they will look ridiculous on a mainstream 2011 tv, after all the Vu+ Duo is an HD box so it is highly likely the overwhelming majority of owners are going to be using this in conjunction with a 32" or bigger full HD tv, so guess that is what most skins are designed for.

I replied on this weeks ago and something went wrong! Does Blackhole have crossepg like ViX? ViX doesn't work with OSCAM and as I'm leaving for uni then I don't want the box to stop reading the family sky card when I'm not there. The main thing it's on ViX for is the user friendliness and the crossepg.

VIX does work with OSCAM. Main problem is OSCAM doesn't AU (as far as I know). Nothing to do with VIX though. Same in BH I believe, but not sure. Maybe Nano could confirm this.

Fair comment - cant be many HD boxes connected to an rf modulator and being used solely on a 10 year old pc card in a computer :D. :-rofl2

Black Hole has crossepg and Oscam AU's just fine, if it does not work then you probably have something configured incorrectly.

Good I'll give that a go next week then. I couldn't get OSCAM to run and someone said there were some problems with ViX and OSCAM

Thats what i thought until i cancelled my Sky card. I was happy in the knowledge that it wouldn't update and it wouldn't see the kill signal for the card. Guess who was wrong

The day it was supposed to go off, it did

The other multiroom card in the TM600 under CCCam is still working 2 weeks after it supposed to be switched off :D

Wow, thought you would need to update every month.

I remember with my old yellow Sky analogue card, I cancelled the sub and didn't use the card as I was at uni. A year later, I put it in and it still worked!

No, checked the entitlements and it said that it was updated until some June, when it was March. Simply pulled the card out when it was downgraded then edited CCCam.cfg to block everything and put it back in ;)

Been trying new images during the last few days. The new VTi image is fantastic, as to is the last EDG image :D

I also tried the Powerboard VX image for the Vu+ Duo. Its well set out but didn't float my boat i'm afraid. Also tried VIX again, still don't like it :-annoy

I tried all the images for about 30 mins each before settling on Blackhole 1.6.6 again :-ohcrap

Its definately worth trying all the images out there before just settling down for one particular image. I am impressed with the stability of VIX, there just something about the way its laid out that i don't like. I still haven't put my finger on it yet.

Try asking AS, I'm sure he'll have an opinion on what's wrong with it.......

Nano, can you post a couple of screenshots of Black Hole with the extended infobar showing. I just want to see what it looks like without going to the trouble of loading it.

The main complaints I've heard about VIX are from people who watch tv in a darkened room and find it too bright. Me personally, I like black on white, and really hate dark websites, although most whipper-snappers think they are cool.

There's something about VIX that I dislike as well that I can't put my finger on.

I'm using BlackHole which is mostly brilliant, not tried VTi but I might at some point.

I'm not nano but here's an extended infobar pic for you Huevos. :D

Sorry for going a bit OT but what skin is that? I like it a lot!

I had an HD Glass one installed but for some odd reason it was making the picture break-up every time I pressed the menu buttons.
