That is going to be awkward to fix.

Have you considered inverting the reflector ?

Good luck breaking it. I have three customers with the same motor, probably coming up to 20 years old now.

ive just noticed i should really do that alignment bolt up, as winds could tilt dish \ mount back, but they'd have to be heavy winds.

its a funny old CM mount - looks home made to me

No, that was a universal bracket that was part of the motor system.

OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

Having never seen that type of motor mount before, could the motor (or mount) be turned so it's 180 degrees at the back of the dish, instead of 90 degrees off to one side??

You could extend the backplate to motor mounting points.

i think by doing that, it would introduce flex, and weaken it, its fine as it is. 53e to 30w plus, is fine by me
its a shame the motor casing isnt on the west side tho, as theres more to the east than there is to the west i guess -but probably not much on KU band

Might be worth taking the motor cover off just to see if you can receive anything further east. Does removing the dish bolt allow it to get any further round?

Invert the dish

With the existing backplate? Correcting twice the offset angle of the dish to its declination angle (which is now [dish offset angle PLUS declination offset angle], to [declination offset angle MINUS dish offset angle] ),
it doesn't look like the motor construction would allow that.

As the motor would likely not collide with a PFdish backplate, I would be thinking more of the option of two backplates: One at PF-dish angle, with the motor attached to it, and another one for the offset angle.

But it is nice to theorize, as it looks like manikm is not going to do anything about it.

If the dish could be mounted a few inches higher with an extra plate between the dish and original backplate, the offending corner could then be cut off.

I can send you more information on this different part tonight If that can help you.

i might try removing the bolt now, if i can get 52e at 21db - i think im very close to 55e - could the dish survive with 3 bolts?

Should be fine in all but the strongest winds. When they arrive just move the dish back round and put the bolt back in.
