Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
.. We're moving next year to an area that is yet to be upgraded for Sky Fibre, so the only option is to downgrade to their regular broadband or jump ship with Virgin Media who already have the cables laid. I think the latter is going to be the only option!
No choice! Join the (mainly!) happy family of verminmedia then :D

Just now - local Virginmedia copper cable connection to SuperHub 2 in modem mode and then ASUS RT-N66U wireless/wired router, and finally Gigabyte Ethernet to this laptop

Upload speed does not surprise me - that's what it almost always has been.
PS: this is probably now the BB basic package as I was told when I blagged a cheaper deal earlier this year that new customers were being given 100Mbs to start with
(@CH - what you now getting?)

Got an email from BT this morning telling me that I had received an FOC upgrade to 72Mb/s

Really?

A lady who lives half a mile from our village canvassed us all over the Summer to gauge support for pressuring BT to upgrade their network feeding this area to Fibre. She got short shrift, as the rest of us have Wireless broadband and are very happy indeed with it.

She seemed genuinely shocked that most of us wouldn't ever willingly touch BT with a bargepole!

Why is the upload so poor with vermin media?

Just done a search, and here is the list of currently offered VM packages
upload_2017-10-21_9-33-19.png
We are on the VM VIVID 100 package, so the upload speed I showed above appears to be about par for that service - the more you pay, the more you get (and I'm not going to pay any more, so circa 6Mbs is what we will have, at least for the moment!).

Do the line stats look ok? The upstream seems high.

My line has settled down quite a bit over the last few days.
