A quick guide on how to Stream TV from your Edision Primo IP S2 to your PC.
Some of you may already know how to do this, I was just playing around with the box and thought I'd type this up.

If it's not already installed install VLC, then open it:
vlc1.png

From VLC go to "View" then "Playlist" Or press Ctrl + L

On the left hand side select "Universal Plug'n'Play" - Accept any dialogue boxes that may pop up.
(Windows users MAY need to change their network from Public to Private and enable network discovery if this box is not showing on the right hand side)

vlc6.png

Double click the folder called MS (with the Edision IP address)

VLC2.png

Double click the LiveTv Folder, be patient as it might take a while to load all the channels:

vlc4.png

You should now see a list of all your channels. Just double click the one you want to watch and it should start playing :)
I just picked a random channel for this example:

vlc5.png

Also under the Media Folder, there is a Record Folder, in here you can watch your recorded programmes :)

I tried this, but I couldn't get it to populate the channels, perhaps I was to impatient. What version of windows is ths working on?

I get the IP address for the Edison in both Windows 7 and 10, but double click it and nothing happens, it does not open to the other three folders for some reason.

Further: Yes, that set of steps does work!

For me, the issue was the VLC for Windows/Linux interfaces - One's inclination is to use the leftmost menu: Media >> Stream >> Network

So, finger trouble then.

Well persevered, @RustySpoons

Will try on Linux Mint shortly.

Edit: No joy, yet. Can't see why it wouldn't, but selecting uPnP does nothing at all, not even the little segmented orange "busy" thing appears.

Will see if summat else needs installing to help it work.

As for VLC/Windows, SD streaming is perfect, but HD glitches and freezes.

I don't have any problems with HD to my Android Tablet.

This is how I tried it the first time, but still no folders upon clicking the IP address. What versions of VLC are you guys using?

I had the same on my phone, until I installed Bubble

Back to Linux, it seems the poor/goosed upnp functionality with VLC is well known and unresolved.

No point in anyone wasting time trying it further.

Version 3.0.0 on Windows.

I don't have Bubble on my Android and it still works perfectly for HD.

If you're not seeing the folders leave it a while, it can take ages, older versions of VLC can take up to 10 minutes or more

If it's showing the box and the IP that's a good sign.

I've gotten around to further playing and confirm that Streaming HD to Windows only glitches when the Win device is connected to my WiFi Repeater. Wherever the signal from the main Router is viable, however, HD streams flawlessly.

I guess that's not an unexpected outcome.

Well happy.

Working with me now. It seems I had VLC 2.6.6 version in the PC when I hit the update button it said I had the latest version..Hmmmm. Installed 3.0.2 and works flawlessly...will check out 4.2.2 now, but no reason why it shouldn't work.

I used the programme's inbuit update checker and it told me 3.0.0 was the latest ... prompted by @scopus Post above, I've now also got 3.0.2
