@subman

Don't forget to load up the TM5402 with William1's latest TM5402 Channel list because, chances are, whatever is already on the RX is out-of-date - you'll need a 8GB+ USB drive and follow the instructions which (IIRC) William 1 has published somewhere, but are quite straightforward to follow.
.
Hi Jeallen01 is this the file I need to down load .

Not sure what you mean about "that site" because it's on this forum! - but, typically, you simply "double click" the file icon shown in William1's post and then your PC's OS gives you the option to either Open it or to Save it in your chosen location on the PC's HDD (or SSD). You then have to navigate to that file and then extract the contents because it's a compressed file (usually Zipped, but he sometimes provides it in another compressed format as well).

Ok I have found the files but there seems to be 2 of them . one seems larger than the other :

TM5402HD Ch List 81.6 Kb

TM5402HD Ch List 87.1Kb

The receiver is : Technomate TM-5402 HD M3 Full HD 1080p DVB-S2 Satellite Receiver LAN USB PVR.

So I wonder what file do I need I wonder ? To install the list I have found a video on YouTube but I would think its the same as up grading the firmware on your router , CCTV System or scanner firmware like the DV1 .

Same content but different compression techniques, and thus slightly different file sizes. One is a ZIP file and the other a RAR file and, personally, I use the 7-Zip App which will extract either type of file, but I usually choose the ZIP version.

Understood in the past I have used WinRAR archiver To un zip the file so which file do you use TM5402HD Ch List 81.6 Kb or TM5402HD Ch List 87.1Kb looks like only one of them is the Rar file that goes into the sat receiver .

If you click on each file icon in the post, there will be a message asking if you want to save it, and which file extension it has - and choose the one that has the .rar extension if you want download it and then extract the data using WinRAR! Otherwise download the one with the .zip extension and use an appropriate unzipping App to do the equivalent (BTW: I can recommend 7-zip because it can do a lot more than just extracting data from .zip files!)

Understood best to use 7 zip to unzip the files , Sounds lots of fun . Ok I am on the 7 Zip web site but there are so many files using OS 10 with 64 so I think I need to down load 7-Zip for 64-bit Windows x64 (Intel 64 or AMD64) ? All this sound more like doing a firmware up grade on a AOR -DV1

You'll need the x64 version if your PC is running the X64 version of Win 10 (or even still 8.1 or 7), and it works on both AMD & Intel m/cs (I have both) - in practice, it doesn't seem to make any difference, and the installation is (or should be) quick, transparent and painless.

Just to recap I am still looking for a SMW ku-band quad multiband lnb (switchable) q-pll type g size 23 or The same as what Scopus Had a Ku-Band WDL - PLL LNB 10.70 - 12.75 Ghz dual feed .

Regarding the Channel List by William-1 2020-04-04 Is there any thing on You Tube showing you how to update your TM5402HD Ch List , I have a few videos on Youtube but they seem to have been made in 2015 and they seem to use the file straight onto your stick and then straight into your receiver .

Good news I have found a dealer in Dubai who has 5 x of these units so put my name one before they all go

To load William1's Channel List into a TM5402 M3:
- Download and extract the list file (latest one is "TM5402HD Ch List by William_1 for 3rd April 2020.ndf") and then copy that to the root of a USB flashdrive (See OTOH below!)
- Insert the flashdrive into one of the USB ports on the TM5402
- On the r/c, press "Menu" and scroll down the lefthand column of options to "USB/External Device"
- Press "OK", and in the righthand column, scroll down to "USB Up/Down/File Manager" and press "OK"
- Screen should then display "USB0", so press "OK" to display the file list on the flashdrive.
- Scroll down to the file name as above and press "OK"
- Screen then shows "Select DB to Save" with 2 options - select the "Normal DB" and NOT the "Default DB" (not a good idea from past experience), and press "OK"
- Screen then displays the "Are You Sure?" message, so select "YES" and press "OK"
- Red "Channel list update" message then displays until the update is completed - should take no more than about 10s.

Remove USB flashdrive - Job done.

OTOH: I did the above on one of my TMs this morning, and found that it would not recognise a couple of 32gb flashdrives but it was fine with a 16GB one - so don't use anything larger than the latter.

PS: William1's list was compiled using a 1m max dish and thus a lot more channels should become available with a bigger dish - for example on 26E his list contained around 120 TV channels, but I then did a blindscan with the TM connected to my 1.25m Gibertini and that total rose to around 220 .

That LNB is not full -- dual - band, but an interesting curiosity nevertheless
.
Perhaps the crystals inside can be changed.

Hi CH I have found these over in a shop in Dubai the look very much like the one that Scopus was going to sell me with dual ports High + Low I , This one however you can use both ports simultaneous I was wondering if by useing the Digital 2 x 1 diSEqc Multi Switch LNB 2 way Splitter . Any thoughts ? Been trying to get a SMW LNB due to there high spec but not easy to get hold of in the past I got some LNBs from HYPEX LIMITED any thoughts .

Thanks for the info Jeallen01 Sounds some thing like the way I do firmware upgrades on my router , scanner and cctv system but if what is listed was found using a 1m dish I think it maybe best to put the TM5402 M3 into search mode . All I intend to do is leave the dish pointed at Astra 4 ( Sirius 2_3 were I can see signals then plug in the lnb and HDMI cable then put the TM5402 into search mode and see what I find I might add none of this is for entertainment mode I use a firestick for that but its nice to find some news feeds and stuff like that .

I don't know what Scopus has, but the Type-E is the one you would need - before modification - to get the full set of frequencies

(Unless you have access to a Global ADX unit.....)
