Somewhere in England (possibly?)!

Agreed - but if you go for an ALSAT motor, then get a "Superior Dark Motor" and not a "Supreme Dark Motor - that's cheaper and less likely in my own experience to suffer issues with some receivers (notably any that are"Enigma"/"E2"-based)

Ok thanks
It will be on Octagon SF8008 4K HDR UHD H.265 E2 Linux Dual WiFi Twin
Better means easy to install and reliability
I am leaning towards TM2600 as easily available through Amazon for easier warranty if needed

Have a read of this current thread before deciding on the TM motor.

Had no problems with my TM-2600. Would deffo buy another one. Also with a bit of googling you can get the TM-2600 MK3 for ten quid cheaper than that :)

MK2 I'm pretty sure...at least 4 years old and still works a treat, no play in metal gears even after all this time.
Would deffo buy another. Assume MK3 is even at least as good or better.

Somewhere on this forum is a thread that lists the various H to H motors and their Asian sources.

I recall the TM design is from the company Moteck, the Dark motors were linked with one of the competitors, Jaeger.

The Moteck from personal experience is much quicker across the arc but has a tendency to corrode, something to consider if you are near the sea.

One clear advantage for me at one time was the wider arc offered by Alsat. Living on top floor flat meant that I had uninterrupted views to the east and the TM just couldn't reach those fringes - even with the hardware limit lugs removed. Alsat one could do 80 degrees in each direction, which meant it was enough to reach 72.1E - but only just!

TM could only reach around 64E. But this is a very specific use case!

I have a new TM 2600mk3 ready to be installed.

What's the diameter of the output pole (or whatever it's called) on the Technomate motor? Going to motorise one of my zone 2 dishes but anything over 1.5 inches will require a rethink :)
