A basic 28.2 Freesat config, but have had a long history of satellite TV dating back to the analogue 19.2 days. Using a HP ZBook 15 G5 laptop (Core i7-8850H, 32GB RAM, Quadro video card)

I've never used a clone but apparently some can have trouble with very high sample rates, such as the 20.25 MHz required for MAC modes. 14 MHz PAL VideoCrypt should be OK though.

Technically, they are all "clones". The design is open source, so anyone can go and create their own version.

Do you mean how to build HackRF or how to use HackTV with HackRF?

The latter is simple. Clone the repository - Linux OS preferred here - compile and run. HackTV has a decent help section.

@Captain Jack I have a small questions at the project? 1. would you use the old Hardware from the Sky Box with the 8051 µC? (this 51µC have no secure fuse set - :p) 2. do you want to build a new line shifter/mover or use the old one? 3. where is the cutpointlist I remember it was only 1Byte = 256 cut points. 4. Do the original decoder use different cutpointlists - I remember there was a free to air list for a open use for only copyright safe video or so. Then a other cut list for crypted programs like pay TV. 5. Do you want to build a new hardware for DIY Kit? 6. should the new decoder work also in Youtube with a on the top command line? Best Regards weakbit

Any old Videocrypt decoder or receiver with decoder in it will work. Either with 8051 or the newer chipset utilising PTV chips.

2. do you want to build a new line shifter/mover or use the old one?
Not sure I understand the question... Line delay is achieved using hacktv software, it's all in code.

3. where is the cutpointlist I remember it was only 1Byte = 256 cut points. 4. Do the original decoder use different cutpointlists - I remember there was a free to air list for a open use for only copyright safe video or so. Then a other cut list for crypted programs like pay TV.
We don't need a cutpoint list any more. @fsphil managed to work out the PRBS for finding cutpoints from the 60-bit control word.

5. Do you want to build a new hardware for DIY Kit?
Again, not sure I understand the question. Are you talking about building a hardware Videocrypt encoder? @fsphil has been investigating potential ways for doing this but it's all on the drawing board still.

2. I mean do you want to build a new hardware that can decode the old PAL shifted signal? That was the meaning of my question.
3. Do the 60bit codeword signal in every half picture the new list of cutpoints? - cool work that to analyse this chaos.
5. What is the development state and what for a µController do @fsphil use for the new hardware?
6. can we implement the 60bit code in the first viewable 2lines? (on Top) for compatible mode with the Youtube channel. So we can store Video inside YT with a Videocrypt+ (+plus mean that is YT compliant) :)

I'm not sure if I'm interpreting you correctly but the VideoCrypt side of hacktv (in fact all of it) is entirely done in software. The hardware side is a HackRF or fl2k device, which is just used to convert the digital data from hacktv into an analogue signal.

There's no hardware yet, just a schematic and some ideas. The plan at the moment is to try the RP2040 (Pi Pico) microcontroller first. It seems quite capable of shifting and manipulating the data at a fast enough rate.

I see - now I understand that everything is done in software with HackRF. Maybe I found a time to play a little bit with it - but can I reprogramm the software that I can make the outside 60bit control bits into the viewable first lines to put it into a Youtube Video? YT cut all the first lines out so there is no information like the old system from Videocrypt. I would like to send a Videocrypt Signal into YT coded. And decode it after playing from YT with the same system.

@fsphil - in what for a CAD you design the Hardware? I use since more then 20 years eagle 4.11R hahaha old but good! Can you tell me more about your hardware ideas? Maybe we can build a encoder and a decoder also for a reduce picture size (576lines progressive) from YT? The idea is to insert a coded Video in YT and play it from this platform. But that mean the control words must be inside the 576 lines and not after the vertical (first horizontal 20 lines that is outside the viewable picture). Maybe a software plugin for a Dreambox?

I'm using Kicad. The device will only work with composite video signals.
