OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

Not that bad of an idea, until the bottle disintegrates, they make weather covers that will fit most motors, and they last a bit longer.

From personal experience, the damage usually starts when the water runs in from the top of the actuator arm.

Best prevention is a gaiter from a motocross type bike.

If it is securely tied just below the upper rose joint it should provide adequate protection, but would need to be longer than the actuator specification (12/18/24/36") by about 2" to still cover the joint at full extension, less if the microswitch is enabled as the mechanical limit.

Are inner tubes UV resistant ?

The motorcycle gators have a pair of holes to let air in/out during movement, which also serve for drainage.

does yours suffer from condensation inside the cover?
No because it has drainage holes underneath which allow any condensation or water to drain out.
It also allows air to enter & expel as the actuator moves in & out.
Sorry its not a great photo.
