The mount of the Triax TD110 was designed by an octopus - you need at least three arms to adjust the bloody thing correctly, and when you do the nuts up it throws the set up out. It really is a nasty bit of work!

And your installer was talking complete ballcocks about it not being suitable for multi sat - Im running one on 46E with multiple offset lnb's and its fine.

No idea, maybe he hasn't done a similar installation before. Maybe I'll fine someone else.

So what do you think about these?

They should both be fine for TD88 and Gibertini, right?

If I go for Gibertini, I think I'll get it from Germany. Well, I'll probably get most of the stuff from Germany as it's a bit cheaper than in UK, even with delivery.

Up to you Sectoid1 but I think 1m+ dishes are overkill for what you want. Have you thought about the Cahors/Visiosat Big Bisat dish which can do at least 8 or more satellite positions? Talking about £180 from Germany with addional lnb brackets plus you can achieve 3 degree separation with 3 degree brackets. HM Sat in germany sell them for €8(additional brackets(£5)) each plus the dish is not steel so will not rust with time.

Thanks! That's why I still think about TD88. If it's a good dish, I probably get it. Daro, Visiosat is a bit expensive to me, but thanks for suggestions :)

So does it mean you would be able to help me install the system? :) If so, it sounds great! How much would you charge? :)

Nice quad you have there, btw :)

I had a technosat 85cm steel dish up for 4 years and at the end there was signs of rust on the dish.

Easily resolved with a coat of Kurust.

Mind you, it'll take forever before there's an impact on reception!

My cheapo Orbital 80cm started rusting around the rim within a couple of years, but even now, several more years later, it works absolutely fine.

My rust was around the screws in the centre. The rust was running down the dish.

Still won't affect performance, but any offence caused by unsightliness can be remedied with said Kurust.

A little difficult when said dish is 20 feet off the ground or so.

That should read Technomate.

Sectoid1 if you haven't bought your dish yet I could sell you my unused visiosat big bisat dish if you want to travel to collect it. If you are interested pm me. I have decided to not install it, too expensive I have decided.

Hi all :)

I just received a dish (Gibertini - delivered from germany) but it looks like it's been damaged a bit - it's got a dent. Have a look:

Back:

It looks a bit worse on the picture than in reality, but is this going to be a problem? Can I repair it somehow whitout sending it back to germany?

Thanks

Aargh, it's so annoying when this happens because the dishes are not sent in suitable packaging. I had a similar issue a while back with a dish I mail ordered but luckily the supplier was happy to send a replacement dish face without wanting the damaged one back. Here's my story:

I've managed to push the dent back a bit. Still looks a bit unnormal though, but not a visible as before.

However from your "story" post, timo, I noticed you couldnt see a significant difference between damaged and new, so maybe I should't worry too much?? It's a 1m dish. What do you think? (By the way, timo - nice balcony set up :) )

Anyway, I sent an email to the seller in germany. I'll see what he says.
