BBQ in the garage? - not here because I have one of those large "Ketter" garden boxes with a lift-up top in which our relatively small BBQ sits 365. Only problem is all the snails that somehow get in there over the winter, and so the whole thing hosing down inside in the Spring - but it does mean that we could have a BBQ feast on Xmas day if we had a heatwave (fat chance of that, even with Global Warming!).

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Just cos it's cold outside doesn't mean the BBQ stops working... :p

Well, unless it's a gas BBQ and the bottle freezes.....:-rofl2

Only if it's butane powered. Propane users will continue incinerating as usual.

A tad breezy here in t'Repooblic right now.

Trying to grab my Codgers' Kip this afternoon I was instead treated to the sound of "stuff" falling over in the wind.

And, in a typical example of the Law Of Unintended Consequences, I discovered that my newly acquired and fitted garden bench cover doubled as a sail.

The wind got under it and lifted the bench, caused it to shift ominously.

Now relocated to the lee of our hedge.

-7 here this morning, the battery labored a bit spinning the engine over coz of the thick oil. Then there was an almighty bang from the front as one of the springs broke. Limped down to my friendly one man garage and he must be quiet as hes managed to fix it today - second hand strut on it as well as that was all seized up.

Hellish journey to and from Bell Ringing tonight.

Floods, tons of wet leaves, fallen bits of tree - anything from twigs to full branches.

Despite best efforts, got one branch stuck under the car and had to reverse to free it off. Having just had a holed AirCon condenser replaced, I didn't want to risk damaging it again.

It's been raining all day here, roads flooded, as well as my garden, which I can't see drying until next summer, due to it being clay.
If only it had been colder, and we'd had some snow, might cause traffic to grind to a halt, as drivers can't handle a bit of snow, but at least it would have looked nice, and the kids would have enjoyed it more !!!!!!

It's been +10C here today - prompted me to skive off from work and put up a dish...
Forecast is for <0C at the end of the week, though...

...and here mate ..
Currently in Hibernation mode ...
See you all in the spring ?
Seriously tho'
My CH has been running none stop for about a week ...but at least I can afford such luxury now thanks to PIP..
I wouldn't mind weathering the coming winter so much ..IF...we'd had a summer prior..
..tis a fact that summers ocurr North and South of Manchester ...but we sit at the confluence to 2 high altitude air systems ..thus we get consistantly less than idyllic conditions ..
Why else would the cotton industry have grown up here ..
Even the fruit crops were crap this year..
cest la vie..
..Time to return to my cave and curl up ...GROWLL....

Jeez it was cold out this morning. The front door was frozen shut so we had a hell of a game getting out, then the car was all frozen up too. This was why!

Then one of the tyres went flat as presumably the wheel had contracted & it broke the seal to the tyre - it was leaking round the edge.

Ah! The joys of being "up North" (a lot!) - rarely see anything below 0C here now, and then not after about 8am (and I don't get up much before then most days) :).

The tyre? Probably an icicle you picked up last night that then melted overnight (or a local "yob" with a grudge - "your dish is bigger than mine, and I don't like that" :)).

None at all :D The heated front & rear windows were on as well at that point as the windows were all completely opaque. :D
