Well they were cheaper to buy. 25 for £5.69 but in the future I will buy more expensive ones. That is if I do. I probably unplug and plug in F connectors maybes once or twice a year so no biggie.
I wish I had discovered these some 25 years ago. No more fiddling at the back of a satellite receiver trying to screw on F connectors. They work by screwing a F connector on at one end and then you just plug it in like it was a belling lee connector.
I hope this is the right forum to post this...
I don't think the Sky minidishes are the most suitable for multi LNB viewing. You are probably better off using a round non minidish satellite dish. Depending on where you live a Wavefrontier T55 dish is good enough for 28e to 1w with the odd exception. The only problem with this dish is the...
We only get about 2 or 3 big thunder storms here a year usually. This year we only had 1 brief bad thunder storm. Not sure it is worth the 80 quid. That picture is from an German eBay auction. The description is in German so I have no idea. Currently have a mini dish installed. It has never been...
Is it really needed in the UK? Talking about those earthing bars with F connector surge protectors things that the wire from the LNB plugs into and out to the multiswitch. What is your advice those who have installed one. See picture. Should I save my money and not bother? It isn't like we get...
According to the footprint map for the UK beam it reaches as far as the south west coast of Norway. A min 1.2m dish needed but you might/could go for 1.5m to allow for leeway.
My personal favourite sci-fi series has got to be Blake's 7. It is something of a guilty pleasure for me. I must have watched the entire series from beginning to end at least 40 times since the VHS tapes came out in the early 90s and the DVDs in the 2000s Bit of a nerd really when it comes to it.
I got a T55 ready for install. Had it for a year nearly. Just haven't got round to putting it up yet. Lack of money and of course corona has delayed things.
I had probably spent the best part of £2000 on it though. I think I got the Echostar second hand but everything else was brand new when it was installed. The wall mount and pole came from Satellite Superstore. That was heavy duty and not cheap. Those Channel Master dishes weren't cheap either...
One of the two has got to be off centre, either 13 or 9. The LNB holders without any LNBs touching will be 4 degrees apart and that is touching. When you put the LNBs in the holders they will be further apart, 4.5, 5 degrees so one or both will be off centre. The only solution is to use rocket...
This was 12 years ago roughly but my CM dish had one of those Jaeger H to H motor mount for it. I remember it cost about £400 new over 20 years ago. Think I sold the whole lot including wall mount and digital receiver and an Echostar LT8700 which was used mostly as a positioner(the only analogue...
Anyway there is nothing at 12.5w except feeds which a receiver will not pick up unless there just happens to be a feed being transmitted at that time. It is a waste of time and money in my opinion.
13 + 9 might work if the LNBs are the 23mm slim type on a T55 otherwise some bodging as the poster above this one has already said. The two satellites are of the same signal strength at least for most channels on 9e. But forget 12.5w. If you are looking to have 28.2 to 9e on the same dish you...
