Hi guys
My connector isn't like the one above, the connector is the same but there is no screw thread. I put thick tape around both the cabler and the f connector where they meet and that seems to have worked, I've just installed the new box and everything is working. I'm surprised the f...
Hello everyone
I was switching out a satellite box today, and, as I unscrewed the satellite dish cable from the back of the box, the actual cable came away from the f connector! I tried screwing it back on and it seemed secure, but then the cable fell out again another 3 times, leaving the f...
Hi all
I have a tdt sat box (like freesat for Spain) which uses the hispasat satellite at 30w. Ever since I've had the service, reception has never been good, with some channels missing nearly all the time, and nothing in any rain even with an 70cm dish. The satellite dish itself was checked...
Hi everyone
As an update, I have finally got round to getting another installer, and they came round today to look at the hispasat. My dish is apparently 70cm, not 60, and they said it should definitely be enough. They then re-aligned the dish and said they had managed to bump the signal up...
Mariust5 you are right the installer came over the weekend and looked at the dish, saying there is a strong signal. This is now true, but only for some channels. Others, which are on another frequency/transponder, are weak no matter how much we peak the dish. I don't think there is a way to fix...
Well I'm stumped. I asked the installer and he said he checked the cables for crushing or water, and I went and got my camera and zoomed in on the lnb and it is skewed to 5 o'clock exactly.
I'm not technical enough for that really :( I will ask nearby installers I guess since I don't want to do anything to the dish in case I break it. I don't think it can be a crushed cable as the cable is straight, and the opening is covered up with tape well, so I don't think it's water in the...
The installer I used said he was perplexed as to why it wasn't working, and, after trying to peak it as best he could, he said the only option for a better signal was to get a bigger dish, he confirmed the skew was set up. I really don't understand why there is no signal in cloudy or rainy...
Hello again I have now found out my hispasat dish is 60cm, not 80, I guess that's why it isn't working. I've finally started looking into getting it fixed agin, I checked and the installer closest to us only has 85cm dishes, which he says are too heavy for my wall (which has wood planking and...
Hi guys the tress have been cut but the signal quality is still the same, and there is a definite clear line of sight. Thanks so much for helping me but I think I'll just have to live with it
I checked with the installer and he said the dish is 80cm. I think it must be the tree as all channels are fine with no rain, and they are not all on the same transponder. I checked the lnb skew on another post in this website and it says it's 22 degrees for the uk, I checked the dish and the...
