Very interesting. As I suspected in the other thread, they are selling subs including BBC and ITV. Could have a market in expats in Southern Europe wanting it. They claim they're also going to have Channel 4, 5 and ITV2: Senderangebote :: kabelio

They're broadcasting the HD feed of BBC One England and ITV London. Just caught the local news.

Their CAM is for sale on Amazon Germany (I don’t think you get Amazon in Switzerland). They probably will require a bank account or something to get a subscription but as always people will find a way

I’m watching this, why instead of the local news on BBC1 HD there is a message onscreen saying you have to change channel?

Its to do with the local news opt outs. Not all regions are available in HD so rather than show the wrong region you get shown the change channel slate on the HD version.

I think they’re encrypted, although my receiver says FTA, there is signal but black screen.

Seeing as the number of TV licensees in the UK has dropped by 250,000 in the last 6 months there has to be serious questions asked about the funding of some BBC services & BBC satback surely has to be in the firing line sooner or later.....

Who cares if a couple of dozen folk on some ultra remote Scottish island loses access to Eastenders for a few nights because some flea powered transmitter has dropped its link??

On the subject, our Swiss subsidiary Kabelio operates this transponder 129. The project has been in preparation for around 1.5 years, and we cooperate with SRG, MG RTL, P7S1, CH-Media, FranceTV and SuisseImage.
We tried to disguise everything as best we could, made the station names unrecognizable, EPG out, AIT Hbbtv out, provider names changed, unfortunately it didn't work. Well, however. Technically, a lot is still being changed, so on October 15th. the setup will be different.
What is currently running is the simulcrypt with France2 HD on Hotbird. The Simulcrypt with SRG should already be running, unfortunately this is not the case, but there is still a little time. The product won't start until mid-October.

Anyone can buy the module, but it is worthless without registration. When registering the module and creating a customer account, only a Swiss address will be accepted, as the product is restricted to Switzerland. Most broadcasters only have license rights for Switzerland, hence the restriction to Switzerland.

When they were free to air the simulcast wasn’t only France2 but also
some Swiss German and Austrian channels, one Italian channel and 3 UK channels.

I'm really looking forward to the new Kabelio offer. But I'm concerned with the downscaling to 720x1280 and the low bitrate of 1.8 Mb/s especially for the British channels BBC1, BBC2 and ITV. I wish these channels could remain in the original format 1080x1920 and with a higher bitrate. Are you considering transmitting in HEVC?

I'm thanking you for your efforts to bring these channels to Hotbird
