Hi,

A couple of weeks ago, the reed sensor of the Geotrack actuator I've been using went t*ts up and isn't working anymore and I purchased a new one from Satellite Superstore on the 20th December and it still has not arrived. After a long wait and chasing up SSS and the post office, I'm wondering if I can use the reed sensor from another motor that isn't Geotrack and whether I can use something like these ones to replace the faulty one.

I would really like to get this fixed asap as I haven't been able to play around with the dish as it's currently parked on 0.8w.

Thanks.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

You can always move a four wire actuator without a sensor, though it will be trial to get it on station.

Are you sure you haven't crossed a pair of wires ?

It does move but only a bit and then it stops each time. I've tried to test the "faulty" one on the other motor that I have and it does the same.

Then you can move the dish, albeit slowly.

Disconnect the outside cable from the sensor ports and replace with two short bits of wire and a morse key or light switch, and operate when you give the East/west command.
