8 West: why can't I get transponders below 12500 on 8w?

Check your Lnb frequency is set @ 9750/10600 & the 22K switch is on Auto.

whereas the 12500+ TPs come nice and strong...
12500+ V it uses European and Mena beams, what frequencies are you talking about?

On 8W the low frequency transponders have V & H polarities so will be interfering with each other.

The frequencies between 11470V & 11678V are on the east beam & out of reach to you.

Above 12500 where both polarities are in use either one is on the east beam or one is allocated to intermittent feeds & wont affect you

However it might be worth tweaking the lnb skew a fraction to see if you can bring the low frequencies in better - a mm might be all it needs.

I agree, the 7w is very touchy with skew ,as you said,1 mm does the job.
Also,7w works much better when night comes. But always limited to 12500+ TPs

It may be something as simple as your lnb is a little more sensitive above 12500.

Those 3 satellites require fine tuning on a large dish 120cm to 240cm as they are aimed at the Middle East..
The others you mention are easy to receive in Europe with an 80cm dish.

E7W does not use 12500+..Badr 4 on 26E works in 11900-12750 range without problems..

I was asking because what I get on 8w and 26E is very strong.
So,the issue is like the difference between pan-european and UK on astra 2?
Either i get a bigger dish,or I forget these.
I use a 120cm for the UK beam on 28E.

True & what I get is 11900(tv5 Maghreb) to 12417 (Dubai) & they work only from dusk into the night
when the 8w 12500+ work at any time.

To properly receive the Ku band transponders on 8 West , you need to be within or very close to the following footprints for that satellite.

one is....https://www.lyngsat-maps.com/footprints/Eutelsat-8-West-B-MENA.html... transponders below 12500 on 8West

and the second is ....https://www.lyngsat-maps.com/footprints/Eutelsat-8-West-B-East.html ....transponders above 12500 on 8West

Yes, here Alicante, España and based south of posting member 'rodscha', we easily receive all Mena footprint frequencies using a 1.2m dish......... so I guess 'rodscha' appears to be outside of the publicised Mena footprint and may. only may, stand a chance with a bigger dish.
¿Perhaps has a nearby colleague who can try this?

Anyway, good luck 'rodscha' and hope your life is ok there for you 'Terryl'. :Y:Y

Our life is great here! I use 7w mainly for the fun ofold Egyptian comedies and Oum Kalthoum concertes, plus the odd film on TV maghreb, tonight has OSS 117 the old one!!
I ll survive without the missing ones;they seem to popup on 8w's strong 12500+ TPs,mauybe a complimentary sat
and I love the Gandia area ,very friendly, hope to return there soon.
