Thanks guys, yep, it was pretty damn cool and I was very lucky to be up north for this event. Even in Helsinki there have been some great photos taken but it's nice to get away from the city lights.
It's quite something else to see the aurora's corona burst out right above. It's also tricky to set the camera pointing directly up into the sky. If only I had a fish eye lens and a proper camera I could have captured even more.
Heh, problem is this might have been "the big one" for this solar cycle and it could be another 11 years or so before the next one...I´ll chip in for the proper camera and the lens is you can reproduce the pics!
Anyone else contribute 1€ so Timo can get a better camera!

Stargazing live, has just started on BBC 2. they should be a feed on 1W/24.5W just checking at the moment.
