i have a 15 year old fibo 1.2 all original still works fine
looking for nylon clog the center of it is worn and some movment
or could i buy a mount to take motec or simalar motor
tried a vbox but would not work and was very noisy when switched on
some motors has metal clogs now which might cope with the dish size
also can i buy a mod to replace the lnb holder so i can use modern quad lnb

any help would be good
cheers

Snuffer has some spare parts, take a look around the fibo section his name pops up quite often;)

The dish is a little big for a disecq motor, but dark man has brought out a metal cogged diseqc motor.

Take a look at alternative motor methods within this fibo section. Maybe the metal cog motor could be used for it.

A vbox will work, but you need one with +5v output.

I dont advise changing the feed horn, as this is matched perfectly to the fibo for max results.

There are quad C120 lnb`s available.;)

Maybe the Invacom C120 quad might fit? Or you could make a wave guide like Johnsattuk did.;)

We use Inverto White Flange Quads
send PM for payment transport are arround 3 Or 4 Euro's

About 1.2 we use Philips boxes for it but only 45 W to 45 E not more perhaps a MOD can change that electrical stops.
Its a box with remote control and 220V 5 wire's for it.36 etc.

You can also use the 1.2 Diseq with a Aston box works verry nice.

Aston = like a Vbox only a little (uh) better and more stable.

Hi garryh,

I very much recommend the use of an Aston DS200 'Satseeker', with a Fibo 1.2m dish, to convert the DISeqc1.2 commands from your receiver to a 36v motor, the slightly noisey movement is normal and you will not notice it so much after a few days.

Firstly, I had a Philips Professional Anologue reciever system with a seperate dedicated Positioner unit (1994) and this did make a real racket when moving the Fibo 1.2m dish, then I had a Nokia Mediamaster (1997) which I soon got rid of (worst receiver I have owned).

I then had a Force 1122 (2000) which was the receiver I was using when I bought the Aston DS200 because, I believe, it was recommended in the 'user manual' of the Force 1122 and the noise of moving my Fibo 1.2m suddenly became very much reduced.

My current receiver, the Technomate 7755 (2004) is fantastic in conjunction with the Aston DS200 and my Fibo 1.2m, the movement noise has decreased even more now, the only exception to the rule is when the Dish is winding back from close proximity to either it's East or West limits.

So, in conclusion, my opinion would be (if I were in your position) I would add an Aston DS200 'Satseeker' into your set-up, I think you would soon see a real improvement.

Best Wishes,
Zorch

Or modify the motor to use a reed switch :)
