Down in the south of France for a week and saw these in the swimming pool.
We must have made a major contribution to the Dragon Fly population in the area as this was by no means the only one there. The second visitor is a little less welcome. Can anyone positively identify him? I suspect it's poisonous as the head is larger than the body. I think it's been eating the frogs in the pool as they (the frogs) have practically turned the pool into a breeding colony. The racket they make (made?) at night is so loud that it practically hurts your ears.
