How do I update bootloader on 800

I have a genuine DM800 with Gemini 4.40 installed in flash. I have just tried to install the latest dvd-modules drivers, because I am getting a tuner failed window on my HD channels.
I installed it through manual install in tmp, on the screen it says I have to update the bootloader to 74 before it will install. Can someone point me in the right direction please.

personally i use nabilosat not gemini but i'd think it would be a similar process. On nabilosat you can install it from the green button in the addons menu.
However if you have ftp'd the file to your tmp folder you can telnet to your box and use the command below obviously replacing your_file_name.ipk with the correct one

ipkg install /tmp/your_file_name.ipk

Easy way is download the file in ipk format
Next use DCC for E2 and go to tools > IPKG Packages > upload package and then navigate to the IPK file.
DCC does the rest for you, just to a hard reboot after.

Do the above update the bootloader
I thought you needed a patched image for that.

Once you use a patched image your bootloader will be updated to the one that patched image needs.

thats the way I've done it.

This has nothing to do with patching an image, it is simply to update the bootloader. The guy said he had an original DM800 so what ever bootloader he installs shouldn't be a problem.
Newer images have to be patched with an older bootloader before installing them on a clone box

There's a new release of Gemini2 (4.50) so I will install this to see if it repairs my problem with the tuner. Thanks for all your help. ;)

Just to let you know, it was the my lamedb file that was corrupt,all up and running again.
