please never do not write some words because can cause heart attack
Yes it was similar type like Rimas got. It was on top of Tallinn academy of science 15 years ago. I got even friends there.
But at this time I did not know what for such big antennas are.
I was so stupid and afraid of big trouble. Rimas can do this what I didn't.
Soon we can see how this antenna can perform.
Rimas are You planning to receive 28E UK beam?

I would like to try everything what is possible to catch, including signals from 28,2*E ;) Of course, I should not forget that mine antenna originally designed for reception and transmitting in C-band, so there will probably be some issues catching Ku-band signals.

Have put electrical motors in their places IMG_20160731_215352 (Custom).jpg . Motors weight ~30kg each, so, they also work as counterweight. But it will be long time till I get them working, before that will be changing position of antenna manually. Therefore I made crank-handle IMG_20160731_205257 (Custom).jpg . Found in the garage old and rusty sheave (made of cast iron) IMG_20160731_170129 (Custom).jpg IMG_20160731_170602 (Custom).jpg , cut the middle part out of it (circled yellow) IMG_20160731_185009 (Custom).jpg , adjusted diameter of the central hole, made feather IMG_20160731_204657 (Custom).jpg . As cast iron is not easy to weld, attached to it piece of "normal" metal IMG_20160731_204709 (Custom).jpg , and welded 24mm bolt head to it. So, with this handle changed azimuth and elevation of the antenna approximately towards due-South satellite.

Moved all the segments out of the garage. One of them got some bend during de-installation 3 years ago (I thought mayby after hanging in the garage this bend will disappear , but it did not :D ), so will need to fix it first.

I am afraid ghat soon I will not be able to make nice pictures, as all antenna will not be fitting in the view of the camera. Or, I should go to neighbor's property to take some pictures. I am giving wash to the strength-ribs, it takes time. But, it takes even more time to fix them to the drum.
You have to buy yourselves a drone to keep us satisfied .

I have found out that view from neighbor's window is OK to see installation.
It is only 448 screws, 448 nuts and 448 spring-washers fixing those 8 segments.... piece of cake...yes/no!?

I did not explore that yet. Actuators have lots of heavy metal inside, and, man, they are heavy.

No problem with power connection of the house 380V 3ph up to 32 Ampere. Lathe runs on 380V, new (self-made) grinder runs on 380V, plane for wood is for 380V.

This quote from post 903, may come back to haunt you, when you have to get the electricity pylon and substation put in the garden!

" Wife asked: What is that? I've said: It is gonna be wind-mill, we will have free electricity! :-biglaugh "

These SEW motors do have a dc break build in .
The black connection block is the rectifyer for that .
We use the same motors for roller convayers at the company .
