Hi,

I have just installed my new panasonic TH-42PZ800E full HD TV and connected the Humax FOXSAT HD box via an HDMI cable to input HDMI 1. I also have a Panasonic Blu-ray DMP-BD35 player connected to HDMI inut 2. The Blu-ray is auto switching perfectly (VIERA link on) but the Humax will not auto switch. I have to switch it manually.

My questions are: Does the Foxsat HD stb support HDMI auto switching?
If not ,can it be corrected by future updates? Are there any other freesat boxes on the market that have auto switching? Is there a hidden menu for turning auto switching on?

Happy New Year to all and many thanks for your help,

Harry & Martine.

Well it would be unusual for anyone on a hobbyist site to know all the answers to your questions but just out of curiosity what does the users manual say?;)

It's a well known and widely experienced problem.

It seems the HDMI has difficulty handshaking with certain TV models .

A short term palliative is to turn the TV off and on again in some cases.

Humax are aware of the issue but I'm afraid I don't know if it is solvable via Firmware.

Now that the initial roll-out of Humax Foxsat+ (PVR variant) is over, it has been reported that the On Air Download Stream will shortly revert to carrying Firmware for the non-PVR Foxsat, so all we can do is wait.

Thank you for your reply. I tried switching the TV on and off to no avail.
