Looks like a French-Canadian take on the mackem delicacy known as 'cheesy chips'. May not be enough to bribe the Yorkshire border guard, but should at least slow them down.
As would a large Northern "Potato Pie" (basically mashed spuds in a pastry case - about as "heavy" as a large plate of soggy chips!) - or a couple of deep-fried Mars Bars or a "Glasgae Salad" (also a large plate of soggy chips!) :-rofl2

Then again, and just to show that I'm not partisan on the "issue", - I'm sure that the Russkies have some very similar - and equally "filling!" :-rofl2:-rofl2
