I will try just the live settings on the satellites, lets see what happens in a few hours or so.

OK kids, it looks like the data transfer between the satdump program can't handle an external dive, the data transfer is too slow, and the program crashes, looks like I going to look for an 2 TB internal SSD drive.

Got some data on the last meteor pass but it was messy, nothing to look at.

Had a good pass on M2-3 but nothing, no downlink data. (and no crashing of satdump, going back to "C" drive worked)

Next good Meteor pass is M2-4 at 21:00 GMT, will see what I get then.

OK after many hours of fiddling with settings I got a small strip of data from the M2-3 satellite on it's last pass, but why only a small strip???

This is all I got.

Oh and the new 2 terabyte SSD drive works wonders for the SatDip program, everything goes to the new "E" drive without any problems like I had with the USB 3.0 hard drive, no more crashes of the program.

Kool, I've been getting good shots on the NOAA sat's but still having problems with the Meteor sat's, any settings you can pass on would help.

I posted a photo of my settings for them, any changes?

Your settings look similar to mine. But turn the decimation off - see if that helps - I have it set to zero.

HOWEVER your system has an error in it somewhere - M2-3 isnt "live" on your decode - this is the current pass as shes going over atm. Note 137.9 has the red "feather" on the frequency scale to say the processing is happening

Have you made it live on the tracking panel?

I set up based on your settings, will see what happens on the next pass of the meteor satellites, 4 AM and 9 AM your time.

What I find with Meteor M2-3 is some passes are gerat, some are lousy. It seems you need a stronger signal for the digital decode so I get lots of black at the start & end of pass due to no decode.. Its also not producing worthwhile images in night time passes.

@Terryl if you are still having problems we will look at each part of the settings in turn. There is so much to get right in Satdump its easy to miss something

I got partial decodes on the last few passes, and your right the signals are very low in amplitude, I have an LNA on order, will see what happens next.

This was the best pass, lots of missing data, I have noise problems, I may get a filter for that band.

Excellent - proof of concept - its working.

If you are on fb its worth joining the APT Group - lots of useful info on there about whats happening with the NOAAs & Meteors. (M2-4 seems to be transmitting at reduced power atm) Plus some great pics from the members to inspire you.

I don't have facebook, had a bad experience on it, don't trust it anymore.

I wish there was a SatDump forum so peeps can post problems and look for answers, that would be a good idea.

Found one problem with my SDR module, it was noisy,(unknown spikes) just got a new one in the mail (under warranty) and it looks great, no noise spikes even with the LNA at full gain, waiting on the next pass of M2-4 in about 20 or so.

That's a good one.

I didn't have much luck with the last pass, waiting on the next one.

M2-4 is on lower power than before atm so will need a good high pass - its needing about 7-8dB above noise for a good sync
