State of the art effects - cheap nowadays of course (man in rubber suit/double negative exposure) - but totally engrossing to those that crept downstairs around 11pm whilst mum and dad were in bed.

Similarly, I used to stay up late to watch it. I'm not quite sure why my mum and dad let me!

The episode that really put the heebie-jeebies up me was "It Crawled Out of the Woodwork" and I had nightmares for several days afterwards. In my memory this was the second, or maybe third, episode in the seriers so either I had missed a few or they were not transmitted in the same order over here.
