Hi all, i managed to nearly get the front finished, i am getting an feeling of the size of it now, it looked small until the front went up, BTW outside measurements are 15ft x 9 + the brick built shed, hopefully nothing will slow me down tomorrow apart from the heat , end of work pictures today :) just the top section to fit in and finish making the weather board for the window:).

Hi Martin.....¿assuming the dish mounted on the wall is facing the Astra 2 range, is your aspect from the garden basically facing true south.....with a clear 45W to 62ºE LOS?

No other way to put it but good luck today with your erection...........summer house wise that is! :D:D

Where the dish is atm J, I can get 62E to 63W if I solved the dish flop problem, only data so ive been told at 63W, I am hoping to get further E from the positioning of the 1.8, that's the main reason why its going up high:).

This thread will show you what I am trying to do J :),

Thanks for the good luck :), if I do have any erection problems I am sure I will sort them out :).

Lunch time update, weatherboard made and installed, this will be the same colour as the outside finish, the red is just to preserve the wood, I am unsure what to clad it with probably loglap, top bit fitted and all protected, the window can go in now when I can get a lift with it,

I will move to the long run after a cuppa :).

OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

Custom built PC

Nice work so far, but why no window header?

I would have used at least a 4x10 for the top of the window, this takes all the roof load down to the jack studs holding it up, and puts a zero load on the window frame.

I guess you all do things different then here state side.

Thanks Terry,
No need for one on this window, the roof will have a over hang and the roof load will be brought back so its not above the window ;), ive been in the building trade for over 20yrs so I have an idea what I am doing :) but thanks for the way you would do it:)

No Pete, she likes millipedes, it was her idea :),

One thing that had to be spot on was the distance from the stud wall by the side where the 1.8 will be, and the height of the sleeper for the gutter to fit and work, it looks like I have it spot on :).

Martin, hope you don't mind me asking, are any of the surrounding neighbors going to be able to see the 1.8m from their houses ? Are you worried about council etc... ?

No I don't mind, yes surrounding neighbours can see it, but I have planning permission for the dish, and the summer house is permitted development, so no I am not worried :).

Was it quite easy in your area to get the planning permisson? I am only asking as you know i have had problems in the past.

Is there a special method to obtaining the permison needed ?

Sorry to go off topic, genuinely interested for future projects, thanks in advance :)

Yes it was easy, but only two people can see it from there living room and I am one of them, if you look at a thread I posted about my bros ham mast and antenna you should not need it anyhow but I did it as a precaution , I need to dash out in a moment I will find the thread later and point you to it if you don't find it in the mean time:),

One window installed :)

Ha! Ha! Ha! move south a little, in July:-hijack

Its warm enough here Brian, my back garden is south facing with at least a 7ft fence round it, so not much of a breeze, god knows how hot it will be in July, my GH is hitting 35/40 on a nice day now . and its not that much cooler in the garden.

it was easy for me with my neighbour works in the office, it looks like you've seen this thread, but I would chase the links up for your area, like I say in the thread they had no idea about it . if not just apply but get a plan drawn up, most reasons people don't get planning permission for anything is there plan, you can pay someone online to do this for you.
