Hi Satellite experts ,

I have a 200 cm Cosmos antenna that has 5 wires hanging out of the back of the reflector. Could that be heating ? Any idea ?

Ok firstly I have deactivated thoses links, we prefer you to upload any photographs directly to the forum rather than link them to another site.

I cannot say I have ever seen anything similar... have you not opened up inside to see what the wires are connected to?

Yep it's for heating, you can not open the dish as it's a double shell dish.

One of the best dishes ever made by a Swedish company that went under in 1992.

Please contact: po.backman @ swe-dish.se
Please state Cosmos in the subject of the email.

He was the owner of Cosmos and the guy who designed these dishes.

Good Luck.

I did not ask that I asked if he had opened it up meaning the terminal box to see what the wires were connected to as this would give him more idea of its function. Or are you suggesting that there are no terminals inside! if so how do they make the connection between the heater elements and the supply cable?
