As I mentioned in the other thread, better signal (BBC frequency) during the day than at night.

I have a difference of just over 2 db of signal, between the best time of day and at night, which is when the signal levels drop the most.
According to the official beams you have no issues receiving Telstar in orense even with 60cm dish !! May be your motor and dish needs ajusting !?

Does anyone have any insights in regard to fringe reception of Telstar 15w Euro Spot 1? Specifically here in the Canaries (29N 13.5W) - we have a number of old 2.4m dishes sitting around from the old Astra 2 chasing days and I wondered if it was worth getting the PlusGas out?
How easy is it to get one of these dishes sent to catalonia and what would the cost be roughly? I've been trying to get a decent size dish for nearly 10 years with no luck whatsoever. Cheers

2galli at Toutes nos paraboles, toutes dimensions has this kind of stuff. English & French spoken. They are near Agen,North west of Toulouse, not too far from .cat
At least they 'll know where & how to find them!
Discuss with them as whether you can receive BBC where you are,Catalunya is known as a "null" place...so ,check & discuss first!

I would suggest anyone watching for minimum signal wait for a few days until everything has been stabilised (the providers can still play with signal and even the footprint)

That saying there is a 2.4m here, that 2 piece Channel Master in receive only configuration.

It has had just over three years of use here in the UK, the previous owner owned it for seven years but most of that would have been in storage.

£250 collect.

A matching king post would be £100 otherwise a Baird (Colorado) NPMM can be supplied for £220 if taken at the same time.

No, the motor and chainring are fine. It also happens to me on Astra 2 that there is a better signal in the morning than at night.

No problem watching it all day long on Telstar.

With 60 cm on a motor it may not be enough, the settings differ compared to a fixed antenna. Improving signal levels on a fixed antenna.

With a fixed 60 cm antenna for the BBC frequency from my location it may be a bit scarce. What they mark in the official coverage traces does not always adjust to reality.

Nothing wrong with the reception of any channel just now (using the GTMedia box)

I'm not sure about this, but at the moment, trps 12596 V,45000,3/5,8PSK and 12717 V, 24902,3/4,8PSK at 15.0W seem to be used as a kind of backup for the BFBS package on 11221 V,30000,5/6, S2 at 10.0E.
Now, they are using the 6.4 channel on both muxes and doing the end-of-week analysis of the English premiership on BBC Sport.

I have a signal on both frequencies. 12597 V with 12.7 db and 12717 with 10.5 db.

The fact is that I see it fairly well (sometimes as if it were pixelating) only for the 12717 V frequency and for the other frequency very bad, in SmartDVB.

I know that it is a continuous transmission and apparently the TBS5927 (maybe not completely compatible) but there is a difference in being able to see it with this TBS tuner between those two frequencies.

In the morning and during the day the signal levels (BBC Telstar 15º W frequency) are better than at night. At night the signal levels drop noticeably and it is not until the next day that they recover again and so on.

I've had a stable signal for 24 hours straight, day and night, I don't know if it's the weather conditions or there has been some change. If it stays like this, it's not too bad, the signal is low but i can see it.

I have better signal levels than a few days ago, they are somewhat higher on the frequency of the BBC 15º W channels.

Yes, I still have that variation, (now it still does not reach 3 db but it is getting closer) from night to day. I don't know why the signal (BBC frequency) becomes so weak at night.

Also through this same satellite I have seen how the signal of the ESPN channels went to zero and apparently it is not the first time.

I used to watch MSNBC on this satellite and the that signal varied during the day too.
Don't know why but MSNBC left a long time ago so I haven't investigated it further.

NBC now deliver MSNBC International via fibre link to providers rather than the unreliable 15W feed that went out whenever the weather was bad in New Jersey.
