Still got my A1200 on my desk and it reads my 3.5" disks just fine. Most of my stuff is stored on a CF memory card in the hard disk slot, a kind of primitive SSD for the Amiga, so Workbench loads in about 2 seconds.

Also got an A500 but it's stored away and gone horribly yellow.

Hah. Never ventured into Amiga but very much into Acorn's RISC OS. Still have A3010 (yellow!) and did have a RISC PC with a StrongARM processor. Super expensive for what they were but were brilliant.

I wanted to do something similar with one of my A600s, but never got round to it and they ended up stored away in a box behind my bed, and then I lost all my disks (including Workbench) and thus lost interest in it, I should do something with it all though, even if it's just selling it off to someone who appreciates them... :)

We used to have a 500, a 600 then a 1200 many moons ago

We had an Acorn Electron that looked like an Amiga on steroids lol

If I remember rightly Chips computer shop used to sell Amiga freeware/shareware software on floppy disks and I used to blag our school to copy me Acorn software (our schools used to use Acorn computers at the time), I'd rock up with a load of blank floppies and end up with most of the schools collection of software :-rofl2

Check eBay for Amiga CF adaptors, some even come ready with loads of software pre-loaded. I just needed to modify my setup a little to get the '060 processor I've got running properly.

That will be the urine within the polymer outer cover,(unless its urine on the cover)

Has the A500 been stored under the bed ?

No, in a cupboard, and even if it had been under the bed it wouldn't have been urine, if that's what you are getting at. ;)

A solution for yellowed plastics:

Must try it on a couple of my yellowed telephones... :D

I have a CF adaptor somewhere, used it in an old Compaq 486 laptop and it worked nicely in there with a 512mb card, though where the latter is, errrm... :confused
