Both our Samsung and mums new LG have DTT and satellite tuners on board and with a bit of a tedious button push it's possible to switch between modes but one thing neither TV can do is store a DTT channel on preset 1 and a satellite signal on preset 2. Both TVs have completely seperate memory banks for each tuner, even on the new LG which has a quick favourite channel option it's either/or. Store a Freeview channel on 1 then switch to a satellite channel and store it on 2 you'll find channel 1 has disappeared until you switch back to DTT.
Similarly her Humax box ( we live in a Freeview Lite area) has Freesat or Non Freesat modes but you can't manually add a channel while in Freesat mode, this puts the FTA (but non Freesat) Channel 4 HD out of reach unless you go through the menu system to switch to Non Freesat.
Why????? Is there some super duper technical reason for these limitations, a legal restriction or just numpty software designers who don't live in the real world?
