That's what I thought.
Very interesting news. What does it mean in terms of % utilization of the new 5WB? Maybe they managed to improve the situation?
At same time, I may have seen a slight drop in signal in some other transponders of 5WB, still not quite sure. May have been other factor. But if...
No because the other 3 signals are still strong as usual, even though change along the day. If was that, the big difference would be on all 5 muxes. There was a big drop since 2 days ago only on 11138 and 11512.
I'm trying to figure out why the signal on 11138V and 11512V dropped so much at my location, while it is still strong on 11596V, 12690V and 12732V.
It could be that they moved 11138 and 11512 to 5WB already ?
I think 10972V has just migrated to new bird, now in Transalpine beam.
Also, many italian DTT gone in the high band. I think they are preparing final dismiss of 5WA.
DVBS2X and HEVC are two different areas. One is a modulation standard, the other is a compression standard. I think channels on 33E actually use both.
What you want to compare is DVBS2X with DVBS2. They are not that different, but the former is an extension of the normal standard, and if you...
I don't think it will be going to 5ºW, unless it coincides with its original mission:
Data
Mobility
Government
Communications on the move: dynamic beam shaping and vessel-tracking capabilities can be optimised for power and throughput as required by maritime, aeronautical and...
Yes, I know about that, and agree with you. But this is the near term scenario. It is not viable for some services to be served in inclined orbit. And the inclination will increase... I would guess it can't last more than 1 ~2 years.
So it seems that 7A reinforcing 5ºW is not going to happen.
This leaves 5ºW with less than half ku transponders when 5WA is finally decomissioned. Some services will be terminated and some will be moved to 9ºE. But what will be the long run future of thsi position? Will Eutelsat afford to not...
I've found this. It seems Eutetlsat has recently requested 139ºW orbital position exploration to the FCC.
