Thank you! I live in France ,so getting a Technomate seems a little more Brexit-difficult... would COMAG make anything I could use for frequencies above 21000?

Any receiver should work, but if you can't input the KA LNB's LO then the frequencies displayed/stored after a blind scan (or manually inputted) won't match those found online. The channels can still be viewed - for example if you change the LO on your receiver for your current LNB and blind scan, it will still find the same channels as before but the displayed frequency will be wrong.

Sourcing the correct LNB and appropriately sized dish will be more of an issue.

Comag are one of the larger manufacturers of DVB-S/S2 receivers, though similar to above I would check the footprints of the satellite carefully to ensure you get the correct dish as a priority.

The reflector will also need precise alignment, and be able to withstand moderate winds without movement to remain on station.

so,this is KA band? then I should just forget it,as I live in South France...
anything beyond 300kms (Marseille or Barcelona) would be for me out of reach anyway
And local channels overhere are usually put on the Internet connected "la box" system, not on satellite!

I think you have confused KA band satellite with terrestrial. KA reception is similar to KU, except the frequencies are are higher.

what I meant is,KA-band is for a very local focused reception,as in Ireland..whereas Ku is the usual format along with C-band(which requires a specific LNB
so,my chance of receiving KA-band here in South fFrance is overall very low,AFAIN :-ohmy

@ozumo
Thank you,and interesting too,as most of these channels otherwise exist only on C-band or African beam.
So when I get a new receiver I'll follow your advice.
I didn't know KA also existed in widebeam.
Have a good and sunny day!

Saorsat for Ireland has some signal cancelling trickery to prevent reception further afield. With luck it won't be used elsewhere.

so,nothing on 16E in Germany today? Strange

On all eleven frequency markers that dreamsat shows in his CrazyScan scan contain broadcast channels - Use Lyngsat or others and check out the program content for each frequency shown in dreamsat's scan - all receivable within the footprint shown for 16E posted earlier with the right equipment

one that isn 't easy for me on 16E is albania 12639 H 10833,notably weaker than its "neighbours" Romania,Croatia and slovenia..
it s much weaker & unstable.

21576 H 3675 this transponder has very poor picture quality. Even at over 10dB S/N is the BER bad and picture is constantly interrupted.

there are changes in the Ka-band. New transponders are
21583 H 5206 2/3 8PSK
21591 H 7706 2/3 8PSK
21612 H 27578 3/4 8PSK.
With the 21612, all unencrypted channels have a green picture and no content yet. Everything else can be seen in the screenshots.
The 21599 H, 21607 H and the 21624 H can no longer be received.

best regards

The channels at 21612 H now all have content. The 21561 H cannot be received at the moment.
