Hi,
It's been a while since I posted on here, had a break from messing around with satellites, but the bug is back.

I have a few new 1m channel master dishes and was wondering about using it on a stab hh motor, can't seem to find any 120 models for sale.

I've seen posts over the years with people using 1.2 dishes on these motors with the rings fitted, but judging by the ones I have, they are very heavy and so is the mount alone.

The 1m I have seems a lot lighter and the mount is smaller and lighter too.
The mount takes a 60mm pole and the stab around 50mm i think.
There is a lip on the mount that can be cut to tightin it further.
The dish and mount could be light enough to make this work, as it would be installed in a sheltered area also.

Has anyone ever tried this with the 1m, remember I have a smaller and lighter mount compered to the one on a 1.2.

Thanks in advance.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

The standard Channel Master fixed and polarmounts are usually a 85-90mm clamp fitting, which can just about handle a 100mm post if required.

Can you take pictures of what you have ?

How much does your 60mm Channel Master az/el weigh? All my CM dishes came with c.76mm mounts, can weigh them for comparison if you wish. Even a 90cm CM with mount seems heavy.

76mm galvanised az/el = 3.7kg
90cm CM + arms + IBU = 6.8kg

Gibertini OP100 steel dish weighs about the same at 10.5kg, so weight shouldn't be a problem.

Sorry for the late reply.
I can't upload a pic, says file to big.
I only concreted the pole 2 days ago and hopefully install the dish and motor at the weekend.
I previously had it on a 60mm L bracket as a fixed dish.
The stab shaft is 50mm.
I could cut the lip on the back of the mount allowing it to tighten it onto the stab. I could maybe put something along side the stab shaft like 2 pieces of steel that I could fill the space to tighten.
Have you any other ideas, thanks.

Thank you for weighing them, that's great.
I have other azel mounts for my 1.2 cm's.
It seems heavy, the mount for the 1m cm seems a good bit lighter, so over all the dish might be light enough for the stab.
The problem I face is that the cm mount takes a 60mm pole and the stab is 50mn, so that 10mm I need to tighten is the problem.

I would pack it off after it is all aligned correctly put a narrow bolt through the mount and pole to prevent is moving in strong winds.
