Hi everybody , i'm planning a 24 room installation in a home . I was thinking of getting a Antiference ams724t multiswitch 24 out or triax tmp 8x32 , put a 60cm dish up with a quad or quatro to feed the shitch in the loft and than one cable to each room nice and tidy . The building is over 3 floors in the south east .
I was thinking , to cut costs to feed each room with cable without a wall plate or should i put a irs triplate . I'm just worried there will be a signal loss with the plate on .
Also i know the switch has to be plugged in at all times and also earthed , just wondering how i'm going to do that in the loft .
Any ideas , advice welcome . Thanks in advance .

May I ask why 60cm dish?
For all whether condition reliability, I would put the best and biggest size allowable.
The difference in price between 90/80cm and a 60cm dish can't be that much and is certainly worth considering.

How many times do we hear complaints of insufficient feeds in these days of PVRs?

Is this a domestic or commercial job?

If your not feeding UHF into the switch, you could leave out the triplex plates but fitting them would definitely make a professional job of it.

A power source would be required in the loft/switch location for powering the equipment. There are receiver powered switches but a/ there would a definite loss on UHF and b/ the losses on IF would be noticeable as using two or three cascade switches in order to get the 24 outputs. Also consider doubling up the feeds to 48, there is a manufacture that supply a single 48 o/p mains powered switch.

The correct way for earth bonding is to run a 4mm2 copper earth cable down to the MET mains earth terminal.

As said, 80cm for multi-switch systems would be better.

Only a single feed as dual would increase the price considerably , the manager is only interested to give residents a digital feed and spend as little as possible .

The job is for this care home that i installed a freesat from sky couple of years back for the lounge where they got a new LCD and had nothing to watch and an extra room . The manager now wants every resident to have the option in their room .
Triplex it is than . I would get a mains powered switch . Any links for the 48 out please ? And how would i locate the MET ? Thanks a lot .

Does this mean each resident would be responsible for his own equipment (receiver, TV, etc.)
He might be able to make a good deal on a quantity purchase for popular brands and offer it to the residents (or those who don't have them) and add a handling fee percentage that might get him back his investment.
Or maybe you can do this yourself?
