This was replaced with a quad of the same make and a notable improvement was seen. Now I get the beeb on my other  decoder, a very old Grundig, albeit a more disturbed picture from 7.30pm- 10.30 pm. The installer tells me that the reading from the dish is 8.5-8.6, and he needs a minimum of 7.4 to get a stable picture- whatever that means!
