You are doing well here MB .....
I,m currently returning the 2.4 c.m. to a K/U setup ... so i will see what luck i have on this sat, this evening.
Being over 250 miles north of you - i doubt i will do so well though - as i recall there is quite a footprint drop off.

Hi nelson,

Yes, based on our previous discussions, there seems to be quite a hefty drop off in signal level for most of the MENA satellite beams the further North you go.

Some of the signal levels on 30.5 East fluctuate over the day. If you are setup for this evening it looks to be the best time for 12529 V, SR2000.
Or rather, that is how that one behaves here in the Southern UK.

Good luck with the 2.4m on Ku, lets hope you grab a bagful.

I think NBN has left the frequency and it is either an empty carrier or data at the moment?

Skies are a bit overcast here tonight .... but i have an initial result .
A blind scan using - Octagon SX88+ Optima revealed 6 transponders /channels .. will look in more detail with the F15 later if i get the chance .. to see what is lurking - just under lock.

Nice result there, the Ericsson Service frequency was a strange one for me.
It definitely seemed to get stronger later in the day at my location.

Aye, those F15 receivers are handy jobs for sniffing out the frequencies below a lock level.
Plus, the user defined frequency range for blind scan is useful

Cheers MB -
The first 3 channels in my list do not lock here until mid afternoon ... channels.jpgThe other 3 hold a lock o.k. at all times,
Despite clear skies in the evenings recently no more channels have come in on blind scan with the Octagon SX88+ Optima. - so maybe that`s my lot from this far North ?

Not had time to check out below lock signals - with F15 yet.

It is worth revisiting some positions that we find difficult, especially since it was not for nothing this time. I've got myself a valuable catch. Winter is good for feed hunting in the Middle East. :)
