Yes, I receive about 140 odd channels on C Band with a 1.8m dish in the UK. Nothing on Ku as the footprint is aimed at South America/Brazil.

With a device that reads and lock the signal for transponders with generic stream, you can locate the 40.5 W position, a signal that is strong enough to be detected by a 1.10 m dish, especially in your area, which is favored.
Below you have the spectrum with active transponders atm.

Manually input transponder 3920 R(V), SR 20000 into your satellite receiver and use that as a marker to check with the receiver signal level indicator.
It was one of the strongest transponders on 40.5 West last time I checked it.

You could also use 3887 L(H), SR 4190 as a marker, It is a T2-M1 transponder but should show up in the signal level indicator bar on a non T2-M1 receiver.
This one was quite strong last time I checked.

You can use dishpointer to get an approximate idea where the satellite is with reference to your locality.

A Dr HD F15 receiver will show T2-M1 frequencies in the signal level indicator bar. I used one of those receivers when I created the table I uploaded to the topic linked to below.
It will not be able to lock the T2-M1 signal but it will allow you to use it as a marker.

Post 106 of this topic contains the signal level table I created for 40.5W C-Band Using a Dr HD F15 receiver

Using F15, and this table, you can even get quality levels, though it will mostly stay red (unlocked). But it's a very handy feature.

Any DVB-S/S2 QPSK/8PSK modulated frequencies can be used.

With the 1.8m well-tuned antenna you have a good chance of receiving the two sports packs.
Look at the SES-6 cover map on your area:40dWB

Last time I measured 3980L, SR 21600 I was getting 9.1db but it was a couple of years ago.
However, I think as it is an ESPN broadcast frequency the dB level might be fairly constant.
