Sadly the only H transponder I can lock are a couple of radio ..on 3558 SR3720...
Maybe I'll have better luck at the back end of the year when I should be able to see this bird with Christina.

Very strong signal for a C-band channel : 3740 R 1922

Only if/when beam 2 comes on air - the currently active Ku beam 1 is aimed at Russia. There were a few Ku channels on 40E in years past - the Uzbek channels were on AM1 until it failed & receivable on fairly small dishes in western Europe..

Two scans some 40 mins apart using the TBS 5925 and the newly aquired DVBSky USB.

Lightening fast the DVBSky but does not do ACM/VCM transponders. Summed up on some forums as 'a great and cheaper unit but does the job..... but not for the real enthusiast DXer! Nevertheless glad I bought it.

We also know that Huevos has been gifted one so look forward to his findings.

Almost time to try C-band again I was planning to have a go this evening - but I eneded up de-snagging a problem on the new 5E dish (a zone 1 ex Sky dish - I get the Euro beam DVB-S channels & not much else)



Dish will be the 85cm Penta.

Hi Analogesat. How big do you think a dish would need to be to receive 40east C Band?
As part of my set up I can see 52 east to 30west. The 1.2CM would that be any use for satellites in that range?
If I did use that would I still be able to use the dish for Ku?

40E is one of the higher power C-band birds - 20E isnt too bad either - Ive had some success with 20E in the past (3 tp's) on a 1m dish with a grossly misaligned lnb. I havent had a chance to try it yet - maybe tomorrow evening or over the weekend depending on exactly what chores OH has planned for me up at her allotment - its the busy time of year up there. I will of course report back with my findings once Ive had a chance to play.

There is no reason why you cant have an offset lnb (Ku lnb on prime & C lnb offset or C on prime & Ku offset although the scalar rings are quite a size on C-band lnbs)
