40E Express AM7

Shame. Will you get them trimmed??!!!!! ;)

Ive asked the farm to see about getting them topped - the answer was no.....

Ive managed to get a weak signal off 3962R RTV Dagestan. Not strong enough for a picture the signal is only peaking at about 30%.

1.1m dish aimed at 46E.

No scalar ring as the lnb has to be too close to the Azerspace 1 lnb and I dont have time to strip the lnb assembly down completely

I mamanged to put the stepped scalar on and now have a reasonable number of the RHCP tp's Most of them are encrypted but at least I can see them. 3962R seems to be the strongest though. I shall have a go with the Penta tomorrow as thats currently not doing anything :D

Zip on the 85cm Penta, but it was very nice being out in the garden on a blazing hot morning :D

FREE TO AIR TV channels, in C band, received with a 150 cm dish ...
The L-band in the C band is an old model with a 17 Kelvin noise factor.
The test was made for the comparison with the future lnb, C1W-PLL (15 Kevin), of the Titanium Satellite manufacturer in Meadow Vista, California, which will replace the old one.
I will return with information about the reception with the new lnb ...

the AVcom extension really improves the reception.
even with a 1.20m antenna I can receive a lot of transponders on Express-AM1

AV Comm barrel is probably one of the best investments I've made. It was like going up a dish size in some cases.

As I couldn't find a topic about C-band reception at 40.0E, Express-AM7, I'm posting on this one in the hope that it will interest other enthusiasts to try it.
The signal is strong enough to be received with smaller antennas (depending on the area). And I say that, because the signal is stronger than it is displayed on the spectrum but due to interference it is attenuated quite a lot (it is noticeable around/under 3700 MHz).
If it is off-topic on this thread, I ask the moderators to move it elsewhere, or even delete it.

Had a look just now , decent levels coming in.
No signals shown below 3.8GHz due to heavy 5G interference and use of a Titanium C138 5G filtered lnbf.

Here's another test of the 40.0E with the Media 5G LNB 15K(anti-interference) from 3700-4200 MHz.
As you know, a strong signal lock despite the environmental noise.
I'm lucky in a way, because the 40.0E C-band signal in my area is still strong, which helped me to lock most of the transponders with each LNB used.
I don't know if I need to mention, but I use my own made dielectric plate, like the one inside the LNB(screensh.)

I also did tests with the Titanium C138 LNB, but it seems that I didn't save the pictures in this position. I can't find them.
I will do more tests with this LNB when the weather permits.

I also add a test with Titanium C1W-PLL with the tbs6903x card at 40.0E, if you have a curiosity with this old Titanium.

My bad,
Re: Circ polarity - i should have added that i use an AV-COM poloriser barrel in front of the Titanium C138, the TiT C138 lnbf itself is motorised enabling me to have remote control over available polarities ie: L/R/V/H
Re: 5G , the big killer for my Cband reception is from a 5G cell about 300m away operating at a top limit of 3.799GHz , it causes massive reception destruction for me :( .

Too bad you can't use your big antenna to its full potential because of interference. You have my sympathy for that.

I understand your situation perfectly well because you can see in the attached picture how hard my 1.50m antenna is working in tough conditions, a few meters away from the mobile forest, to which I add the over 85m long cable coming from the antenna to the receiving device.

The interference itself, no matter in which environment the antenna is installed and working, is a great danger for the C-band; and directly and indirectly it affects us as hobbyists. It is difficult to combat it.

We each try to appeal to all sorts of "crutches", but no matter how much we succeed, the frustration is great. Unfortunately, we each carry an open wound that we cannot heal. :(

Here's just to show the "disastrous" area between 3.600 - 3.815 GHz once 5G strikes from close proximity.

Looking at your interference spectrum, I would say that I am lucky in the strange conditions my antenna works in (see picture above).
I was under the impression that the larger an antenna is, the better it is at capturing the useful signal from the noise that accompanies it. But your example clarified to me that it is not as I thought. It looks like your antenna is absorbing even more of the "dirt" in the signal.
Compared to your interference, I shouldn't have to complain about my antenna.

I would have liked to know what SNR you get with such an antenna between 3500-3600 MHz and from 3800-4200 MHz, but even more, I am interested in the attenuation on the signal on the received and locked transponders. Thanks.
