49 east

I have seen on LJ's that there is a station called RTR Sport on 49 east c band.
What exactly does this mean, does anyone get this channel in the UK/Western Europe and do I have a chance with my puny 1.2 meter with this?

Funny thing is, it does not even appear on my list of sats in the Dreambox sat menu....

Well the power for the downlink across the UK seems to be about 38dbW . Which equates to around a 1.5m dish minimum. Plus C-band kit of course.

RTR Sport is on 13E Ku band, but I cant imagine that version showing the ManUtd game.

yep normally. Of course I went to LJ freq page, but there was a bit of a confusion here about the name of the station...

Still, I am intrigued about this 49 east sat...a mystery sat!!

Errr no. You would need something upwards of a 3m dish.

I dont think the programme line up changes on this satellite from the one at 13 East.

Can you give me a quick pointer how the numbers convert to dish size? also, I am in Germany...

Take the appropriate power line for your location, then convert using the chart. It gets a bit theoretical for lower powers / bigger dishes, and you will find charts disagree.

Was having a look myself, cant get it here with only a 1mt dish. Freq i got was 3706 L 15550 3/4 TP 4a (Planeta Sport) Might be of some help. Looks like a analog freq dont it, listed as Digital FTA. Maybe if you get a new set of settings with 49e listed in it, might help.
